<\/b>   An Act to repeal the Uganda Tea Authority Act, Cap. 36; to provide for the appointment of a liquidator for the purpose of dissolving the Uganda Tea Authority, and for related or incidental matters.<\/b><\/p>\n

\n

<\/a>1.<\/b>   Short title.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   This Act may be cited as the Uganda Tea Authority (Repeal) Act, 2006.<\/p>\n

\n

<\/a>2.<\/b>   Interpretation.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires\u2014\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   “Authority”<\/b> means the Uganda Tea Authority established under the Uganda Tea Authority Act;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   “Minister”<\/b> means the Minister responsible for agriculture.<\/p>\n

\n

<\/a>3.<\/b>   Appointment of liquidator.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (1) The Minister shall, on the coming into force of this Act, appoint a liquidator to dissolve the Authority.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (2) The liquidator appointed under subsection (1), shall be appointed on such terms and conditions as the Minister may determine in the instrument of appointment.<\/p>\n

\n

<\/a>4.<\/b>   Duties of liquidator.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   The duties of the liquidator shall be to\u2014\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (a<\/i>)<\/b>   receive all the assets of the Authority;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (b<\/i>)<\/b>   receive and settle any claim relating to any obligation of the Authority;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (c<\/i>)<\/b>   determine and settle the terminal benefits payable to the former employees of the Authority;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (d<\/i>)<\/b>   dispose of the assets of the Authority;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (e<\/i>)<\/b>   recover any debts owed to the Authority;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (f<\/i>)<\/b>   carry out any other duty which is incidental or related to the foregoing duties.<\/p>\n

\n

<\/a>5.<\/b>   Repeal of Cap. 36.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   The Uganda Tea Authority Act, Cap. 36 is repealed.\n<\/p>\n
