<\/b>   1.<\/b>   Imposition of import commission.\n<\/p>\n

CHAPTER 185
FINANCE ACT (No. 2), 1996.\n<\/p>\n

Commencement<\/i>: 15 June, 1996.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   An Act to provide for an import commission.<\/b><\/p>\n

\n

<\/a>1.<\/b>   Imposition of import commission.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (1) There shall be charge<\/p>\n

{mprestriction ids=”1,2,3″}<\/p>\n

d and collected by Uganda Revenue Authority on any goods imported an import commission of two percent of the value of the goods.\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (2) The import commission charged under subsection (1) shall not apply to\u2014\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (a<\/i>)<\/b>   plant and machinery imported free of duty;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (b<\/i>)<\/b>   scholastic materials and pharmaceutical products which are exempt or zero-rated for purposes of value added tax;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (c<\/i>)<\/b>   instruments and appliances used in medical, surgical, dental or veterinary services or laboratories imported free of duty;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (d<\/i>)<\/b>   raw materials;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (e<\/i>)<\/b>   agricultural and horticultural inputs imperted free of import duty;\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (f<\/i>)<\/b>   goods subject to conditional exemptions specified in Part II of the Setond Schedple to the Finance (No. 2) Act 2002; and\n<\/p>\n

<\/b>   (g<\/i>)<\/b>   imports by Government.\n<\/p>\n
